Price Rise for Domestic Gas

The Mozambican Ministry of Energy has announced a 20 per cent increase in the price of LPG cooking gas, taking effect as from Thursday.

A kilo of gas rises in price from 23.99 to 28.79 meticais (at current exchange rates there are about 25 meticais to the US dollar).

The price of fuel oil also rises by 20 per cent, from 13.11 to 15.73 meticais per litre.

The price of all other liquid fuels remains unchanged.

The government reviews the price of fuels every month and increases, or reduces, them whenever the cost of importing fuels, when expressed in meticais, moves in either direction by more than three per cent, or whenever there is a change in fuel tax.
